Vanilla Basil Gimlet To make a dull night a little bearable, you need a drink. More precisely you need a Vanilla Basil Gimlet, an adaptation of a basil gimlet recipe I found in a cocktail book. Pour 1 1/4 oz Tanqueray gin and a twist of lime in a cocktail glass. Pour 1/2 oz of any vanilla syrup on hand and swirl around, don’t mix. Trust me when I say it’s a heavenly companion to basketball, How I Met Your Mother, or Mario Kart Wii.
